Too much toast for you? HAVE SOME MORE! Plus some otome VN news!

Hello everyone! (or the random person who has stumbled onto this insatiably weird blog of mine).

Its 2014 now and almost mid-January of the new year! Its been nearly six months since I last wrote and update I think, which is pretty sad in and of itself. But starting from today, I'm going to try be a little more active!

This week I teamed up with the lovely Ana who is working on her game Elements The Academy as a part of her company, Mushroom Samba Productions, to create a little work group which ensures that the both of us work diligently on our otome games and progress significantly on them every WEEK! So far so good and I'd like to say that the otome game I've been working alone on is getting closer and closer to completion. In fact, a demo should be unveiled in a few months, and the game itself should be released this year if not next year January (you know, considering it'll need to be proofread, edited, and beta-tested). I don't have a name yet for the game, but my company does...but I won't reveal that because I'm paranoid someone will steal it -SHOT-

You can check a summary of 2014 on my DeviantArt account here: http://the-monkey-ninja.deviantart.com/journal/Animation-and-End-of-Year-notes-423055893
As you may have noticed if you just read that, there have been some deaths, madness (as usual), drama, events in South Africa, and the notable factor that I have officially completed High School. With a Bachelor's pass! That's the highest of the four ranks by the way, and yes a number of people got it and a number of people did not, so I'm pretty proud of myself. I got five A's out of seven subjects, so I'm pretty pleased with myself (though I could have done better if I'd bothered to study a bit more >> and not played games << sigh, games and their addictiveness). I'd like to congratulate Erin (I won't provide a full name here for privacy purposes of course) who got a 100% for her final Art mark for Matric! WOW! In case you didn't know - THAT'S AMAZING LIKE OMG. I'm really happy for her and proud that she was in my grade and my class, hehe XD But really, well done! X3 She deserved it 1000% ! X3

With 2014 on track I'm getting ready for Animation University in Cape Town. Its nerve-wracking since I don't have family down there and unfortunately although its still half a month away I've had to take sleeping pills just so I can sleep at night. On the brighter side of things I've been getting more excited for it since I tried out animated gifts for some online friends this year! You can check them out on my Youtube channel:

and on my DeviantArt account http://the-monkey-ninja.deviantart.com/ (the images - you have to go to Youtube to see the animation since its a .wmv file).

I'll be opening up commissions soon (I'll try write out the info today) so if you're interested send me a note on DeviantArt (or DA for short --- not to be confused with DA for Dragon Age XD ) ! The money will help with my living expenses next month ;_;

If you haven't heard of them yet then you're hearing about them now! The Korean company Cheritz is making english-translated OTOME GAMES!!! There current titles are Dandelion: Wishes Brought To You and Nameless: The One Thing You Must Recall. Both games are brilliant, highly recommended, and worth every penny they're sold for (trust me, I bought them and played them). You can check out their website here and buy some games (or merchandise!) :

 http://www.cheritz.com/

I buy the downloadable version of their games since unfortunately they don't ship to my country, South Africa T_T Meaning I won't get any merchandise unless I visit Korea or a Convention that they attend (I better save huh?).

My friend Charmane, or HaraJukuLolita online (who I know in RL but for privacy purposes won't post her full name as well) has commissions open and is also currently taking requests! Check her out on DA here:

She's also working on her own otome game, so look forward to it! You can check out her blog here which focuses more on anime and the Lolita fashions:

And last but not least (that is such an overused clich'e but whatever XD), announcing azureXtwilight's MOGF game revival!
Check the DA post here:

If you've played any of the games from the Fantasia series before, you'll know that MOGF was to be the third installment to the series (there was also a rumour of a fourth installment if fans so desired). If you kept with it, you'll know that after a long while it got cancelled and caused some fan rage and depression for a long time -- in fact probably all the way up until its revival was announced.

The revived game is under the name MOGF: Althernis Precasted ((I asked why there was a name change but didn't really get an answer so let's just take it as a symbol that the game is going to be VERY different from the original demos of it we'd seen before its subsequent cancellation)) and instead of just playing as a female lead hunting gorgeous men whilst trying to uncover some mystery, you can also choose to play as a boy! Or in more detailed terms, as the original main character's brother (of MOGF - not of the very first Fantasia game). Now this technically only makes the game half-otome since it will now also be half-BxG not sure what the term for it is, and according to some news the team is aiming to appeal to a more male audience. (Even though guys have enough games as it is but hey, who am I to talk XD). There's no homosexual paths available, but if there is enough demand you might get some. The operative word being might. The game is set to be commercial instead of free like its predecessors (and initial self) but if you donate now you will get the game for free. Every monetary donation counts! The game will be entirely donation funded, so there is the big risk of it being cancelled if there aren't enough donations. So if you're a big Fantasia fan (or anything by azureXtwilight) be sure to help out!

You can check out the new game thread for it here:

Oh, for those that don't know, MOGF stands for Memento Of Grand Finale.
If you're interested in her previous games, get the links to them here!

With that announcement my blog post comes to an end! Look forward to more updates next week on here as well as on my DeviantArt! Enjoy~

(sorry for the lack of images this time!)
